As part of our Well Built Community Fund, we've chosen three North Devon based finalists to go through to a public vote to decide who receives £1,000 worth of building materials.

We recently invited groups from across the region to apply for a donation to help them be part of various carnivals that are taking place this year, and we've now chosen Barnstaple Fair Carnival, Filleigh Community Primary School and Hartland Carnival as finalists.

Those that help to organise the Barnstaple Fair Carnival would like materials so essential repairs can be made to the Royalty Coach. The coach is kept outside meaning it can be affected by the weather, so the team would like to ensure it's looking perfect for use not only for the Barnstaple Carnival, but also events in Bideford, Exmouth and Torrington.

This year Filleigh Community Primary School will be taking part in the South Molton Carnival for the first time. The school would like the children to walk with a large Chinese dragon and would use the £1,000 donation to purchase materials for its build.

Taking place over seven days, Hartland Carnival is one of the largest in the region and materials are needed to tidy up the Carnival Queen's float, to help make games for the family night, and also new signs for parking. If successful, the group will also pass on some of the donation to those taking part in the carnival to help them build their floats.

Kevin Fenlon, CEO at RGB Building Supplies, commented: "Carnivals are fantastic at bringing communities together and continue to be extremely popular events. We received a wide range of nominations and it was extremely difficult to narrow it down to just three to go through to a public vote. We wish all finalists the very best of luck."

Votes can be cast by visiting our Barnstaple, Bideford or South Molton branches during opening hours and placing a chip in the relevant box, by voting in the poll that will be at the top of our Facebook page, or by emailing RGB@pmwcom.co.uk and putting the name of the group being voted for in the subject line.

The vote will take place between Monday 21st May and Sunday 3rd June 2018. Votes cast outside these dates will not be counted. Only one vote per person via each method of voting will be counted.

The winner of the £1,000 worth of building materials will be the group that receives the most votes.
